About GOAA

GOAA is founded on experience and evidence-based knowledge from within the industry of aviation and selection. Through their careers, founding partners Olav Guldbrandsen and Bjarke Overgaard have worked with the development and improvement of selection processes and person assessment – in aviation as well as other industries.

With a shared background in research, development, management, and recruitment, their experience and knowledge have now been condensed in GOAA.

In recent years, there has been an increased focus on Human Factors, personality, and Pilot Core Competencies to heighten safety and human performance in the aviation industry. With their new regulations in the area, EASA have only added to this focus.

About Bjarke Overgaard

Bjarke Overgaard is a licensed psychologist with more than 20 years of experience in the areas of organizational development, compliance, person assessment, safety culture, and strategy – at both the individual-, group-, and organizational levels. In particular, he has a broad experience from within the police, aviation, and security industries.

During the past 10 years, Bjarke has been more narrowly focused on the area of human factors and development in organizations that combine significant demands for safety with high-pressure conditions. With a professional background in complex and politically driven organizations, combined with a solid, theoretical foundation as a licensed psychologist, he efficiently integrates elements of organizational culture, internal safety culture, and operative procedures.

Today, Bjarke’s main area of expertise is guiding organizations through transformational processes where compliance and code of conduct are integrated with operative efficiency requirements. More specifically, he develops and customizes safety strategies, risk assessments, and security clearances. He also directs testing and selection processes of managers and specialists in a variety of roles.

Bjarke’s approach is holistic, strategic, and data driven. Striving to be as informed and unbiased in his problem-solving as possible, he is frequently engaged in a broad range of research projects. Among other things, Bjarke has done research on pilot safety behavior, as well as on personality profiles of individuals involved in organized crime.

Overall, Bjarke is passionate about understanding and improving behavior in organizations and roles where ruled-based behavior is of key significance for organizational success. With GOAA, this is exactly the task he has set out to solve.
