About Olav Guldbrandsen

Olav has more than 40 years of experience as a pilot in both military and civil aviation.

His ambition has always been to contribute to an efficient and professional operation while maintaining the highest levels of safety.

His knowledge and competencies have been formed through a broad range of professional roles, including Chief pilot in SAS and Leader of SAS’s pilot recruitment processes. Olav has also functioned as Board member, consultant, instructor, and currently he is a reserve officer in the Royal Danish Air force.

From these roles, he has gained a solid experience with operative management, organizational development, and project planning.

Olavs motivation stems from a deep interest in selecting and training skilled pilots with a focus on their personal as well as professional competencies.

He has a broad experience in the development of pilot profiles, competency profiles, organizational profiles, and administration of protocols and regulations – and he knows how to apply it at a managerial level.

Overall, Olav has a positive and open approach to cooperation, as well as a real passion to share of his knowledge from within the areas of aviation and operation.

COMPETENCIES:

• 40 years of experience as a pilot – initially in the The Danish Armed Forces and later in SAS.

• 30 years of experience with operational management – including human resources management, recruitment, training, transformational management, organizational development, and project management.

• Currently a board member of four different Scandinavian flight schools – management and supervision of pilot education/training.

• Currently a reserve officer with a solid experience from complex military operations.
